Dr. Nuria Morgado Sánchez, Professor of Hispanic Studies at CSI, has been recognized as part of Mujeres Destacadas 2026, an annual distinction presented by honoring influential Latina leaders across the New York region.
Dr. Morgado Sánchez’s inclusion places her among a select group of women whose professional achievements and community impact are helping shape the cultural and intellectual fabric of the tri-state area. The recognition highlights leaders from a range of sectors, all united by their commitment to advancing opportunity and representation within their communities.
At CSI, Morgado Sánchez has long been a driving force in the study of Hispanic literature and culture. She teaches at both the College of Staten Island and The Graduate Center, CUNY, where her research explores modern and contemporary Hispanic literature, cultural studies, and the intersection of literature, philosophy, and society.
