Campus Center Meeting and Events Spaces

The Campus Center (1C) is conveniently located in the center of the 204-acre College of Staten Island Campus. In the Campus Center, small and large event spaces can accommodate parties, dances, concerts, ceremonies, lectures, conferences, dinners, and more! 

Located on the First Floor of the Campus Center, adjacent to the West Dining Room, the Green Dolphin Lounge is a premier, tech-integrated venue designed for versatility. Whether you are hosting an intimate cafe-style gathering, a formal dinner, or a high-energy open mic night, the GDL provides a professional atmosphere tailored to your needs.

Capacity & Configuration

The GDL spans 1,857 square feet and comfortably accommodates up to 138 guests. We offer several recommended layouts to optimize your event flow:

  • Lecture Style: 100+ chairs for presentations and seminars.

  • Dinner Style: Formal seating with 6–8 guests per large 72" table (6 tables w/ 8 chairs each is recommended).

  • Cafe Style: A relaxed arrangement using small tables (up to 20) with 1–3 chairs each.

  • Expanded Venue: For large-scale events like graduations or galas, the GDL features a movable privacy wall that can be opened to combine the space with the West Dining Room.

Technical Features & Amenities

Our facility is equipped with a comprehensive suite of audiovisual tools to ensure a seamless production:

  • Visuals: A projector and screen with universal HDMI connectivity.

  • Audio: Integrated overhead speakers, auxiliary cord connectivity, an audio mixer, and a selection of wired and wireless microphones.

  • Lighting: Dimmable overhead lighting and dedicated stage lights to set the perfect mood.

  • Privacy: A retractable wall system for maximum acoustic and visual privacy.

Staging Options

Tailor your presentation or performance with our modular staging units:

  • Medium Stage: 8' X 12' X 6'' (Length x Width x Height)

  • Large Concert Stage: Fully customizable using 10 individual pieces at 6' X 4' X 32" 6' (Length X Width X Height)

    • Recommended configuration: 12' X 16' X 32" (Length X Width X Height)

    • Note: Concert staging is available for an additional fee.

The West Dining Room (WDR)

Situated on the First Floor of the Campus Center, the West Dining Room is an expansive and flexible venue designed to host large-scale gatherings. Located directly adjacent to the Green Dolphin Lounge, this space is the premier choice for networking conferences, gala dinners, and social celebrations.


Capacity & Expanded Event Options

With 6,621 square feet of floor space, the WDR offers significant capacity on its own, with the unique ability to merge with neighboring areas for major events:

  • Standalone Capacity: Up to 160 guests.

  • Integrated with Green Dolphin Lounge: Up to 250 guests.

  • Integrated with the Rotunda: Up to 250 guests.


Recommended Configurations

The WDR is optimized for high-traffic and high-engagement events:

  • Dinner & Gala Style: Formal round tables with 6 chairs per 60" tables, ideal for departmental luncheons or ceremonies.

  • Networking Fairs: Efficiently organized with rectangular vendor tables to maximize flow and participant interaction.

  • Social Functions: An open layout perfectly suited for dances and large receptions.

The West Dining Room is equipped to support your event's audio and logistical requirements:

  • Audio System: Integrated overhead speakers with Auxiliary Cord connectivity for seamless music or speech amplification.

  • Lighting: Bright, full-coverage overhead lighting (non-dimmable), ideal for professional fairs and daytime conferences.

  • Versatility: A retractable wall allows the room to serve as a private space or be opened to extend the Green Dolphin Lounge for maximum capacity.

 

 

 

Executive Conference Suites

Located on the Second Floor of the Campus Center, our professional conference rooms offer a refined setting for high-level meetings, interviews, and collaborative presentations. These "smart" spaces are fully equipped with the technology required for modern business and academic needs.

Conference Room 1C-227

Capacity: 15 Guests | Size: 347 Square Feet

This suite is our premier turnkey solution for presenters, featuring a pre-configured workstation for an efficient start to any meeting.

  • Integrated Technology: Dedicated in-room computer with FLAS login capabilities and a fully integrated audiovisual system.

  • Conferencing Tools: Built-in telephone for conference calls;  ebcams are available upon request for virtual meetings.

  • Professional Layout: Furnished with a permanent executive conference table configuration, optimized for interviews and small group discussions.

Conference Room 1C-215

Capacity: 14 Guests | Size: 270 Square Feet

Designed for flexibility, Room 1C-215 is the ideal "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) space for collaborative workshops and private sessions.

  • Plug-and-Play Connectivity: In-room HDMI and Auxiliary cables are provided for immediate connection to the overhead AV system.

  • Hardware Compatibility: While a personal laptop is required for media playback, VGA-to-HDMI adapters are available upon request to ensure compatibility with all devices.

  • Atmosphere: A focused, intimate environment perfect for strategy meetings and internal presentations.

The Rotunda

The Rotunda serves as the architectural centerpiece of the Campus Center. This premier venue features a unique circular design, bathed in natural light, creating an open and inviting atmosphere for high-visibility events. Whether hosting a vibrant resource fair or an elegant dinner, the Rotunda offers a sophisticated backdrop for any occasion.


Capacity & Integration

Spanning 2,381 square feet, the Rotunda is a highly adaptable space that can function as a standalone venue or as part of a larger event complex:

  • Standalone Capacity: Optimized for medium to large gatherings of up to 150 guests.

  • Integrated Event Suite: For large-scale conferences or galas, the Rotunda can be combined with the West Dining Room and the Green Dolphin Lounge to accommodate a total of 425 guests.

The Rotunda’s open layout is specifically designed to support diverse programming, including:

  • Academic & Professional: Poster presentations, resource fairs, and conference networking sessions.

  • Social & Formal: Group luncheons, formal dinners, and dances.

  • Natural Ambiance: Expansive windows provide a bright, professional environment that transitions beautifully from day to evening.

The Bijou provides an upscale, on-campus theater experience designed for comfort and high-quality media presentation. Featuring plush lounge seating for up to 30 guests, the space combines luxury with functionality, making it a versatile choice for both entertainment and academic presentations.

  • Capacity: Up to 30 guests.

  • Technology: 75-inch Samsung LED HD Display, Bose surround sound, and universal HDMI connectivity.

  • Access: Exclusive to internal campus groups during the academic year.

  • Dimensions: 473 square feet of climate-controlled space.

  • Faculty, Staff, College Administrators, and CSI Employees must:

      • Location(s)
      • Event Start time and Event End Time.
    • Once the request is confirmed in writing, the host(s) will receive the next steps for submitting any technical/set-up requests.
    • Should you have any questions or concerns, please visit the Office of Student Life at 1C-201, call 718.982.3088, or email StudentLife@csi.cuny.edu.
  • The hosting department is responsible for staffing fees for events requiring unique setups, technical equipment/assistance, and after-hours support. 
  • Requests are not confirmed until you receive a written email notification from the Office of Student Life. 
  • Students, clubs, and organizations must complete the "Create Event" feature in CSI Connect:

  • The Associate Director will work with the client(s) to schedule a walk-thru of the proposed space(s) and discuss event logistics and associated charges.
